Educational Psychology in the Classroom

At the beginning of the year it is important to ensure that you know as much as you can about each individual student, their home lives and their school lives. This will help you to be understanding towards each individual.

Students should not be rewarded in a phsyical way ie star charts, instead students should be verbally encouraged by their teacher when they achieve a better result personally.  When class tests occur students should be commended if they did better than they have done previously even if their mark is not top of the class. Marks should not be shared with the class, instead they should be for the individual student alone, as such the teacher should mark all tests, homework and assignments. Teachers should not announce who in the class received the top mark, instead each individual student who has done better than they previously have done should receive praise from the teacher.
